PolyResi – Modal Analysis Tool for FRF / MAC / PolyMAX (Free version)
🎯 PolyResi: A High-Performance Modal Analysis Tool Developed by a Vibration Expert – Unmatched Cost-Performance
For over 15 years, I’ve worked with industry-standard modal analysis tools, including:
- Siemens Simcenter Test.Lab (formerly LMS)
- Brüel & Kjær PULSE / BK Connect
-
MATLAB Signal Processing Toolbox (including the
modalfit
function)
After years of hands-on testing and comparison in real-world applications, I can confidently say that PolyResi is one of the most intuitive and practical tools available.
Moreover, its estimation accuracy has been independently verified to be on par with leading commercial software.
💰 A Fraction of the Price – Without Compromising Functionality
- PolyResi is offered at less than 1/100th the price of conventional tools.
- Despite the low price, it delivers full-featured modal analysis and animated visualization capabilities.
🔧 Background and Licensing Philosophy
With a background in vibration engineering—from foundational theory in the 1980s to state-of-the-art system identification today—I’ve been deeply involved in both industry and academic research.
However, traditional modal analysis tools typically require expensive licenses and proprietary hardware, which makes them inaccessible for many researchers and educators.
That’s why I developed PolyResi—a high-performance tool at an affordable price.

🧪 What is PolyResi?
PolyResi is a dedicated Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) tool for Windows.
It provides intuitive access to advanced features via a graphical interface, including:
- Pole stabilization and selection using the PolyMAX method
- Modal correlation visualization via MAC (Modal Assurance Criterion)
- Mode shape animation linked to Nastran geometry models
- Video export of multiple mode shapes (MP4 / AVI / MOV / MKV)
🆓 Main Features Available in the Free Edition
- ✅ Import FRF data (.mat / .npy / .csv)
- ✅ Display CMIF / MMIF and stabilization diagrams
- ✅ Estimate modal parameters with PolyMAX (one mode only)
- ✅ Visualize modal correlation using MAC
- ✅ View static mode shapes (animation disabled)
⚠️ Free Edition Limitations
- Only one mode can be selected and estimated
- Mode animation and video export are disabled (viewing only)
- Exporting analysis results (.mat, .xlsx, etc.) is disabled
- Usage is limited to 5 minutes per session (restart to continue using)
🔓 Full Features Unlocked with a Paid License
- ✔ Select and identify multiple modes simultaneously
- ✔ Play 3D mode animations and export them as videos (MP4, etc.)
- ✔ Save all mode animations in one batch
- ✔ Export results in .mat, .npz, and .xlsx formats
🎁 One-Time Purchase, Lifetime Use (on the same PC)
Even after reinstalling or upgrading PolyResi, reactivation is not required as long as the MAC address remains the same.
